IGNOU Announces Entrance Test for the Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology via Samarth Portal

 The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)  announces  the online registration of Entrance Test for the admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology (PGDRPC), July 2026 session through the Samarth Higher Education Admission Portal (https://ignoupgdrpc.samarth.edu.in/).

This innovative programme, offered by the Discipline of Psychology, School of Social Sciences (SOSS), aims to develop skilled professionals equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in Rehabilitation Psychology — a critical field addressing assessment, intervention, and support for persons with disabilities across life stages.

About the Programme
The PGDRPC is designed to impart comprehensive training in disability assessment, psychosocial issues, rehabilitation counselling, and community-based practices. Covered subjects include:

• Disability and Rehabilitation

• Psychosocial Issues in Disability

• Rehabilitation Assessment and Counselling

• Community-based Rehabilitation

• Practical lab work in identification, assessment, and intervention techniques.

The programme meets the norms and guidelines of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), ensuring academic and professional relevance for learners pursuing careers in clinical, community or institutional rehabilitation services.

Eligibility Criteria (As per RCI Norms & Regulations, 2017)
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
 Bachelor’s Degree (Regular Mode) with General Psychology as a subject in all three years*; OR
 Master’s Degree in any branch of Psychology, either in regular or distance mode*; OR
 Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, either in regular or distance mode*
* Minimum Marks Requirement: 55% marks in aggregate for General category, 50% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates, Entry qualification must be obtained from a UGC-recognised University.
